If Jesus (PBUH) and Mohamed (PBUH) are both prophets of the same Allah, then why did Jesus call his followers to love their enemies and "turn the other cheek" yet Mohamed used military force to win his victories? Isn't that a contradiction in methods to respond to evil? How can Jesus and Mohamed be prophets of the same God if they contradict each other so severely on the matter of loving our enemies?

You tell me when the Church was slaughtering hundreds of thousands "spreading the Gospel" getting converts, where was your example of Jesus turning the other cheek? Christians=hypocrites. Look at the log sticking out of your own eye.

I am not Muslim, but my father is. From what I understand, when Mohammed rose to power was for the same reasons that Jesus did. The difference? Jesus chose the pacafist martyr stance, Mohamed chose to fight. Jesus could have done the same. When the Muslims had freed themselves from the tyrany and oppression, Mohammed is said to have left because there we no more fighting to do. The fundementalists where borne of an absence of leadership and bloodthirst. So they continued when the actual intent of Mohammed was just to free the land, not take over the world. In the Qaran there are preachings of tolerance for others. This death to the infidels crap comes from our Crusaders as well as theirs.

Ok first of all you got it all wrong. Prophet Jesus (PBUH) was a prophet and is highly respctable for all Muslims and a must to respect....

Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) at the time of war with the people of Makkah declared that any person who goes into his house and closes the door /curtain will not be hurt and in peace he will remain..Anyone willing to fight against God and remain outside will be taken as a sign of war and he would fight him. Also the people of Makkah made the life of all Muslims And especially prophet Mohammad (PBUH) miserable but as he was a Prophet he declared on that day that he would not take revenge for what they did to him.

Abu Sufyan sadi himself rushed toward Makkah calling to his people at the top of his voice when he say the army of Mohammad (PBUH) approach: "O men of Quraysh, here comes Muhammad with an army such as you have never seen before. Put up no resistance. Whoever enters into my house shall be secure; whoever remains in his own house shall be secure; and whoever enters the Mosque shall be secure."

So u see both conveyed exactly the same message.

I've learned not to believe anything that any religion teaches. I have come to realize that having all these different religions seems to be the root cause of so much controversy and violence. It's best to look inside yourself and find God there and don't worry about how certain religions believe this should be or that should be and how you should behave. We all know good from evil. That's pretty much all you need to know, in my opinion. If you have a relationship with God, it comes from a spiritual instinct that he put there and that you've cultivated and nurtured yourself. Just be a good person and don't hurt others. Live a good life, the best you can and don't worry about religion, in my opinion. I don't disrespect people who need religion. I actually like to listen to their views but it's really not what it's all about here on earth, this life. It's about something more profound than religious beliefs.

The Qur'an says you use military force only when someone has refused to allow you to practice your faith. There are strict rules for this type of war--no innocents are to be killed, property is to be preserved. You are to immediately forgive those who stop fighting and treat them in a civil and hospitable manner.

The Beloved Prophet (pbuh) was assaulted when he went to pray at the Kabaa and did not lift a hand against his assailents. He did not see war as anything but the very last resort, and showed by his example that one should forgive enemies.

if someone attacks your country what does your government do? they just stay where they are and then say ok come in and occupy the land? mohammad use military force to defend his people. he wasn't the beginner. now in the world which government uses military power the most? of course, the united states, the chirstian government. jesus and muhammad do not contradict each other. mohammd also encourages his followers to be good to each other and to other people. the conditions of his time was absolutely different from the conditions of jesus's times.

Muhammed(PBUH*) was ordered by ALLAH to use military force to take back Makkah. At that time the pagans were killing off any of the Prophet's(PBUH*) followers so the only way Muhammed(PBUH*) could take back Makkah was to fight the infidel pagans.

good question smart one:
First:we are not sure that jesus (PBUH) said love ur enimes or not.
second:Muhammed(PBUH) didnot use his Milatiry force until the unbeleivers attacked him and his followers ,he used it as a defence for his followers and him(PBUH)
Third:he(PBUH) also used it in order to make the masters and preistents of the countries agree to make him spread islam in their countries, they refused to make him offer the islam for ppl and some of them attacked him so he had no choice but using this kind of force but he didnot use it to make ppl muslims, that is their own choice and his mission isnot making them muslims but just offering the islam .
fourth:both of them are the prophets of Allah and both of them had the same message but differant ways of spreading their messages and acheiving their aims,

I'm christian and I dont think you or I have the right to question any religion or contemplate on any theory,we live in an era of religious discord and it would be best to stay away from topics like the one you have broached.we can discuss a million subjects ,islam or muslims dont need to be talked about.
