There's always a reason. The reason may not be obvious however. This can happen a lot with depression.

There are a few things that could be going on: They could be depressed or bipolar. That was the tipping point for me. I broke down at work (and I'm not a "cryer.") It was weird, one minute I was totally fine, the next I was sobbing. That's when I knew something was wrong and I went to the doctor. With depression, you can slip into it so slowly that you don't realize you have the symptoms. It sometimes takes something really out of the ordinary to happen--like sudden outbursts of crying if that's an unusual thing--to fully realize that you need help.

If you're talking about a female friend, she could be pregnant or just going through some hormonal issues. Some types of birth control can put your hormones out of whack for a while, which can cause moodiness and crying.

Stress is another possibility. People deal with stress in many different ways. Some internalize it, some lash out at those around them, others cry for seemingly no reason at all.

It really could be a myriad of things, but I suggest seeing a doctor to see what could be causing this.

Hope this helps!

When a women's hormones r out of wack u can't control yourself especially if your pregnant or close to your period or on it.I always no when my period is coming cuz the day before I'm very emotional. The littlest thing will bring me to tears.I feel like such a suck but I have absolutely no control over it lol...Don't men no that PMS stands for punish my spouse lol...(b/f).Someone other then the person crying would think it's for no reason but don't say that to the person or they'll think your not a compassionate person.Just be there for the person n try to understand what he or she is going through.

do you mean everyone, babies & grown-ups?....
Theres a reason!! if your a grown up & say you don't know why your crying, they might be too embarassed to say, or something about the past, grieving,or even happieness, watching something on telly could even trigger things off.. it's good to cry now & again...
