I graduated undergrad May 2006. I was planning on going to grad school this fall but it is too late to apply.. Can I still defer my loans? Is there anything I can do? becuase they are due now and I don't have the money to pay them yet (my job screwed me over). Please help. my school would not tell me anythign since I am not a student anymore.

You're not eligible for an in-school deferment on these loans BUT you might be eligible for a "forbearance" (which is similar to a deferment except that interest will continue to accrue) Call your lender before you miss a payment and explain that you have no income at the moment. Your lender would much rather give you a forbearance than see you default. Then, when you begin classes again, give them another call and request an in-school deferment.

No. Wait until eventually you have finished going to college thoroughly, or maybe then, countless the "perks" of consolidation is in basic terms hype... incredibly incredibly incredibly weigh the professionals and cons of consolidation until eventually now you accomplish that. generally, all it does is assure you pay on your loans LONGER (and pay extra pastime) than in case you probably did no longer consolidate.

Who do you have your loans with? Check with them, I was able to with mine while looking for a job.
