Yep. Day of Obligation. My church has 4 services that day, two in the morning, two at night.

Pretty much. I always go if I can but I doubt I would mean any less to God if I had to miss it. Even if I just blew it off I think God has bigger things to get upset about. I go because it means something important to me.

you do not have to be Catholic to go and receive ashes on your head. Several churches do this now (don't want to be Catholic but they all copy her).
