Go to the Humane Society or your local SPCA!! There are TOns of Homeless dogs who need homes. Most of them just weren't able to be cared for and its just not their faults. If you really want a puppy go a adopt one from there and give them a loving home. They deserve it!...

A puppy is a great idea. If you like big dogs and very affectionate dogs...please consider a boxer puppy. They are ooofy at first but they do grow into their heads and feet. Haaaaa. I am on my sixth Boxer and I have raised them with my children. They are absolutely the best dog to be around little ones. My grandson now sets on my boxer and eats snacks. Oh yea, did I mention that you will probably have to share your bed with your new boxer friend. They can't stand not being around people. And contrary to popular belief....they are intelligent. You can't go wrong.

Please try your local shelter! Also, before you get a puppy make sure you have done some research on life with a puppy - it is a LOT of work between small frequent feedings, housebreaking, training, socializing... If you have a very busy life an older (over 1 year) dog might be a better fit.

just keep an eye out in the classifieds. there is can be something in there. or if you have lots of money go to a petstore. puppy's are a lot of hard to work so make sure you have the time and energy to put into a puppy. remember they're just a baby dog.

Go to petfinder.com. Or, go to your local animal shelter. Also, look up animal rescues near or in your city.
Do not go to a pet shop. Many get their animals from shady places like puppy mills and the pups can be riddled with disease or serious illnesses. Adopting is cheaper and kinder, and most of the animals will be much healthier.

There are a variety of pet stores depending on your location. you may also want to try a dog rescue center or a humane society/ dog pound. also you could go straight to a dog breeder. try looking in the news paper or looking in the phone book under pet stores, dog breeders, dog pounds, humane societys, or dog rescue agencys.
a good website to refer to is www.petfinder.com this will help you find what breed you are looking for and will help you find dogs in your area. for more information you may also contact me at kitty45342@yahoo.com
also before you get a puppy remember they are a huge responsibility they need vet visits puppy shots and training. I can also answer any questions you may have on training.
Good luck!!!

Puppies cost money...even the free ones. Make sure you can afford the vet and feeding costs before adopting.
