in most religions? i can't say... i only know that sometimes, I feel like i am supposed to be on my knees in humble worship... sometimes I am on my feet and praising God with my hands raised to heaven... sometimes sitting and listening to what God has to say... and sometimes, dancing in the aisles

some 'religions' accept some things and others don't.... but it isnt up to a 'religion' to tell me how to worship God... it is whatever God calls me to do

Actually the words translated worship in the Bible have more to do with a posture of the body than anything else. I think by implication true worship conveys an attitude of the heart. God tells us those that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24) So the attitude of the heart is more important than the posture of the body. The Greek word used here means literally "to kiss towards". The most proper physical posture is neither to stand or to sit, but to bow, with ones face toward the ground:
"Then Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, "Amen, Amen!" while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground." (Nehemiah 8:6)

Worship is in spirit and truth and has no physical position required. Many will worship laying flat on the floor.

To have a physical position required to worship is man made thing.

Anyone who notices your physical position is not fully engaged in worship. Anyone who would not accept an alternate position is not worshipping.

Now having said that, standing is more of a position of respect than sitting. Bowing/kneeling would be even more of a position of respect.

God looks at your heart, your motives etc. Dont be guided by peoples opinions or actions.

Sometimes people can be on their knees physicaly but not spiritualy, ie they do it for show.

If you want to really do it right, go to the back of the church. Where no one can see you, then follow your heart.

Without others seeing you it can only be between you and God.

The best position is how Christ told us to, in our closets privately and kneeling.

Doggy-style. I don't know. Do you really think God cares? Really? People in the world are dying needlessly while you debate which position is best for worship. Good grief!
