It might be, but if it is, God would have seen it coming, and He probably would be okay with it if he didn't do anything to stop it. Although there is that question about the holocausts, birth defects, the natural disasters and whatnot; he didn't stop those either so I guess I don't really know

I've never understood the whole "playing God" thing. If we can do it, then how is it playing god? As I understand the concept, God should be able to do things we could never do. If In Vitro is playing God, then God isn't as smart or powerful as we've hoped. We should fully explore our potential and not be held back by deities that are likely imaginary, at best theoretical.

Not really. In vitro is the impregnation of sperm into an egg. It has nothing to do with the "construction" of the being at conception. In vitro eliminates the action of the conception phase.

~~~Sarah,,, Respectfully, your timeworn question of "playing god" is, and always will be refuted by the argument of The Advancement of Knowledge and Technology. Where did all this knowledge and tech developemnt come from,,, and why,,,etc, etc, The Question should be,,, "How do I best assert my Freewill with my current "Knowledge and Wisdom?".
I disagree... if it isnt meant to be, it will not happen.... no matter how hard we try... whether invitro or matchmaking or whatever we try to do... if it is in God's will, it will happen (conception) and if it isnt, it won't
No. Playing God is where you invade other countries after lying about their weapons of mass destructions.
God gave us the technology to do it, so no, it is not "playing god". It is playing human - doing what we do.
I think it is. If god is making you infertile, it is probably your genetics. Why not adopt?
