If I were to find a doctor that dosent rush through appointments orone who wouldnt say my kid was crazy so he could get more money and honestly tell me my son is fine if he is, I would.

call your local school board. they will test him for free and answer all your questions. he doesn't have to be in school yet. they should also ask you lots of questions about how he acts at home to help them make their decisions. tell them you want his adaptive behavior tested.

If you were to give more information on your son, we could probably give you a little better advice :)

One of my sons was "active"
He never seemed to be still but there were some things that would engage him. He could sit and watch a video for an hour and a half even though he still was moving. (foot tapping and things like that)
When he started kindergarten, his teacher told us he was hyperactive just before she went on maternity leave. I hadn't thought he was hyperactive, I knew he was extremely active. When the new teacher came in, I told her I'd been told that he was hyperactive and she laughed. She completely agreed with me that he was just an active kid and told me that he was very good about settling when everyone else did but he was always going to be a fidgeter. All of his subsequent teachers have agreed with that evaluation.

If you go with a test, it more than likely will just tell you what you want to hear since you're in control of the answers. Also, many of the online tests are put there by drug companies so beware of who has an interest in the answer.

Some kids are just more active than others. My oldest son was very quiet and calm. He's now a stand up comedian.

if he's younger than 8 than you probably won't get an accurate testing...just because kids tend to act crazy and wild for a while but after the age of 8 that's when you could easily have him tested. try searching for adhd and add disorders under google or yahoo and that should help. it helped me with my search for my 8 year old sister in law... my husband has a big family...lol.

A lot matters, how old is he, what is he doing? Is this your first baby?
