Who do you feel supports the constant changes? It has been "pushed" totally from the "stock" into something none of us can relate to from the car aspect. Who "likes or supports" this development? I do not feel it is based on the "fan" support of change, at all. Most thumbs down the today Nascar from the past. Could it be the Owner and drivers are they happy with today Nascar?

I can not imagine the owners like the changes at all. It cost them a ton of money everytime NASCAR changes the rules. The drivers have to get used to the changes as well. As for the fans, it seems NASCAR is so busy trying to lure new fans that they are ignoring their base. Isn't that how so many businesses fail?

The COT is an ugly vehicle to say the least. With the wing on the back, it looks more like they are wanting these cars to look like Formula 1 or CART. The STOCK in stock car racing is gone!! I think they should leave it alone with only one exception. As new technologies emerge that will make the race drivers safer. Other than that, make these cars look more like the STOCK cars as possible!!

I do think that Nascar is one of the fastest rule changing sports. There are a few of us who long for the old "just get out there and race" days. But is it really practical to ask someone to watch a 3-4 hour race where the winner wins by 5-6 laps with no one else even close? They have attempted to make Nascar TV friendly. The races are now closer due to restrictor plates and rule changes. The question is, is this what the fans want? Are they not the ones dictating the sport? Although since they have made all these rule changes the fan base has dropped dramatically. That and the fact that it now costs in excess of $100 pp to go to a race. Not exactly family friendly if ya know what i mean.

I'm wondering what brought about that question? Is it because Michael Waltrip's crew cheif was fined $100,000? Or Because Jeff Gordon's start time was affected by the paint on his car creating "extra drag"? The fact is that the rules have always been there for the crew cheifs, but now NASCAR is starting to enforce the rules. Crew Cheifs spend there entire career trying to gain an edge on the competition.

This is a sport that's trying to break from it's image as a a "Southern" sport, and strives to become a family sport like football and baseball. To use baseball as an analogy, Nascar is just searching for players using "corked bats" unlike in the past.

Nascar has been changing since the good ole days back when crew chiefs and drivers tried every thing to faster now they have and NASCAR has just evolved to what it is today. They are going just as fast as possible now they have used evry trick in the book. Just a few years ago before they made em start using restictor plates on Superspeedways they were even faster. I think the cars are fast as they ever going to go today so you will be happy shoulnt be any major changes in near future.
