Adobe Photoshop is still the #1 choice for creating artwork on the PC.

If, however, you think you haven't the talent, you could try simpler, more affordable software such as Print Shop, which includes clip art. These usually go for around $20 at office supply stores.

i use Adobe photoshop, there's also adobe Illustrator, whihc i think is little more complicated (at least since i've only used it a couple of times) if you want to make images that are like digital paintings, try Corel PAinter and a wacom tablet. however, if you aren't very artistic, it will be hard to get used to this, so you're gonns need a lot of practice before you try to sell things. try taking some classes at your local vocational school in graphic design. actually, the program is called graphic communications through BOCES. i should know, it took it in high school for 2 years and got a certificate.

The best free image manipulation program I know of is the GIMP... run any search for it and you'll find it right away. It's almost as good as PhotoShop, without the exorbitant price tag.

You might want to take a look at GIMP. I haven't used it as I have Photoshop but it sounds like it is similar to Photoshop. I'd consider it if I needed to buy/upgrade Photoshop. Fortunately the old version I have is adequate for my usage.

The G.I.M.P. is 100% free and is almost as powerful as Adobe.
