A vision is something you see consciously in your mind's eye, whereas a dream is an unconscious/subconscious image you see when you are in REM sleep very often acting out what has happened to you during the day, or acting out your feelings etc.

There's 2 ways to read/answer your question.
1) A vision is something we can imagine, can purposely visualise it, & it seems like it could happen,
& a dream is something we hope for but the chances are it's less likely to happen.

2) A vision is something which involentarily comes to someone when they are in a waking state, a prediction of sorts about the future which they *see* as if on a tv screen in their head
& a dream, when your asleep & you dream (some people think dreams often = predtictions but I don't beleive it is the case).

When I read your question for the first time I thought you meant the second option but I realised it probably wasn't so I wrote both!

A vision the singular is seeing something that isn't there, like dreaming but you are awake when it occurs and it occurs either involuntarily, or through certain methods such as drug taking, or raising your body temperature such as a sweat lodge. A dream occurs only during sleeping. Day-dreaming is not really dreaming it is a form of imaginitive visualisation.

Vision also refers to the power of sight, or an ability to visualise goals, achievements and plans that reach a distance into the future.

Dream as in to dream as well as the act of dreaming when asleep can refer to a imagining of the future but often without knowing how it could occur or without specific details.
