To those of us Catholics who are getting ashes tomorrow (I am unsure if other Christian denominations do this), what time are you going (morning/evening) and are you going to wear them all day? I'm going in the morning and yes, all day long. I don't wash the ashes off until bedtime.

If you do NOT participate in Ash Wed, no smart aleck comments!

No smart aleck comments. I wish you and all those who mark Lent a blessed Ash Wednesday. May you find the answers you seek during this period of contemplation and self-examination.

I'll be going after morning class, and wearing ashes all day. I don't want to show off, so I keep my hair a little longer at this time of the year, but I do want to observe this important beginning of the season.

Before I left Christianity, I was Roman Catholic. I'd leave them on as long as possible, even so far as sleeping on my back so my pillows didn't rub them off.

A priest used to come to school and put them on us, and I'd leave them on all day
