Bob Foster and it doesn't go 15. Foster in 8!

Now this fight would have been a classic two light-heavyweights both champions. But I would have to pick Bob Foster he had the
reach advantage, a good jab and he had power in either hand. For spinks to win he would have to get inside Fosters jab and power and I don't think he could have, Foster wasn't faster than Spinks, and spinks would be difficult to fight because he was rather awkward to hit. As for outright boxing Foster was far better the complete picture. I would say foster in the latter rounds by a KO say the 10 or 11th rounds.

Good question and a real superfight! I rank Foster as the 2nd greatest Lgt heayweight behind only Archie Moore and Spinks 3rd. Foster had great leverage on his punches with power in either hand. He also was a very good boxer with a tremendous jab which set up his power punches. Spinks also had good boxing ability and was a little more awkward than Bob. I believe that he had a little more handspeed than Foster with Foster having a slight edge in power. I believe that this would have been a tremendous fight with Foster sending Spinks to the canvas early on but Spinks getting up and fighting back fiercely. Foster would have used his reach advantage against Spinks and won a very close decision in a great fight with the public clamoring for a rematch!

I would love to see this fight it,s hard to bet against Spinks I ,ve seen Bob Foster fight and he was a killer in the ring but I have to take Michael Spinks by KO in the 13th round the Spinks Jinks worked on every one but Mike Tyson

WOW! great matchup Spinks would have knocked Foster out, power in both hands and a big light heavy weight.

Spink KO in 7

Michael Spinks was more versatile while Foster had more experience. I think I'll go with Spinks, though. He had more power in his punches and he's the more natural light heavyweight.

Great matchup. I'll give the nod to Spinks. Both were dominant light heavies. I base my opinion, though, on what they did as heavyweights. Even though he was destroyed by Tyson, Spinks won a close nod over a very good Larry Holmes, who was a very underrated heavywight champ. Foster on the other hand was decisoned by Zora Folley and totally destroyed by Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali, who was similar in size & style to Holmes. In addition, Spinks KOd very large Gerry Cooney, who may have been past his prime at the time, but who had a wicked left hook & was no slouch.

This would be a great fight. I saw too many of Spinks's fights to vote against him here. Spinks by decision. Undefeated at light heavyweight.
