I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and a Shih Poo (shih tzu/poodle). Also I have and orange tree in my backyard. Each Spring and Fall, the oranges drop from the trees, and I make orange juice and sell them. Sometimes when I am at work, the oranges drop, and the dogs eat them. I know you should never give a dog ANY people food, but I cant control when and where the oranges drop.

My main point is, will the pits or the orange peels make my dogs sick?

Sometimes as many as 50 a day drop, (according to my neighor) and when I get home, there is only like 30. If it is okay for them to eat oranges how many should be the limit to where they will get sick if they eat any more.

I dont have the choice to keep them inside because their my mother's. (i am not a kid) She is a neat FREAK! and cant stand for them to be inside.

Sorry about the long question, but this really important to know!

dogs do just fine outside as long as they have obedience training and their vaccinations...anyways if your dogs have been doing this for a while and haven't yet gotten sick...you should go to your vet and ask him about it...

sure some vegetables are ok for canines... IE carrots, pealed cucumbers, pickles (i'm no longer joking) Our canines receives no different ingredients that are many times for human intake with the exception of the atypical carrot, blob of peanut butter and a raw egg in her dry foodstuff in certain circumstances. we would not feed her celery and that i have no longer some thing to diminish back this up yet.... i'd say no to broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage as those would reason your doggy to pass on a gassy rampage stinkin up the position... you comprehend what I advise eh?! it really is all i comprehend for now. And heavily now there are some convinced NO no's, like chocolate!

My dogs eat people food all the time and they are the healthiest dogs around. I'm sure if they haven't had an upset stomach yet then it doesn't hurt them. Otherwise they probably would have been vomiting a long time ago.

My vet says citrus is a bad ideas with dogs digestive systems since they are acidic enough already. It could result in intestinal damage and bowel problems.

I don't know what your climate is, but keeping dogs outside is generally a very bad idea. They can become extremely territorial, subject to skin fungus and other health problems.

Too bad the dogs can't kick your mother out :)
