He is a 4 year old jack russel/shitzu. He's usually a ball of energy. But in the past two weeks his energy levels have dipped. He's also had a decrease in appetite completely. With the winter he has gotten a little less exercise then normal as it's harder for him to get around outside (the snow goes over his head) and despite our best efforts he is not much of a winter dog. We're worried about his fatigue and loss of appetite. Help!

He eats only one meal a day after much coaxing. He drinks lots, stool and urine are normal. No coughing, fever or irregular heart beat.

That doesn't sound good at all, but you need to put more details. Is he having regular bowel movements? Is he drinking? How long has it been since he has eaten? Is his urine a regular color?

I know that sounds weird, but those are some things the vet will ask you. You need to take him to the vet ASAP. The sooner a problem is found, the easier it is to treat.

If this has been going on more than a few days you should bring him to the vet. Those dogs are usually very energetic so there may be a problem.

There are so many things it could be, that you need to take him to the vet. They will probably do bloodwork on him to chaeck for different possibilities. Ask them to test thyroid levels too.
