Thank you Thov. Unfortunately there will always be people who stereotype, not just against Muslims, but other people as well. Not all of us are terrorists, or even support the terrorists for that matter. I stand firmly against the actions of the Al-Qaeda and Shi'a regimes and stand for true Islam, the way of peace.

There are obviously some here that DO NOT represent how we all feel about Islam.
I personally have a half Egyptian daughter and am learning Islam so that when she becomes old enough to study spirituality, I have some answers for her on every mode of spirituality.
The problem here I think is, many Muslims post here that they would like to talk about Islam, but when they are questioned about aspects of the Q'uran or the Q'aaba, or prayer, Muslims are not answering fully or honestly. They just post a sura from the Q'uran.
This is not informative or instructional.
If Muslims want Americans to understand them, they need to be more visible and more willing to answer questions about their religion.
As Salaam Eleikum

1. The knowledge of the questioners is not based on any reaserch, but based on information acquired throgh the media, and the media is not always true, but is politically mitivated. For example there was a hoo and cry about the weapons of mass distruction with Saddam in Iraq but did any body found any thing, no. The pupose was to make a ground, though false, to attack a county for political reasons and it was done despite of the fact that the UN inspectors declared that there are no such weapons in Iraq.
2. Such question are a chance for muslims to educate the people about Islam, which means peace. Let me say here in few words what is Islam. It is giving only one simple message that is to worship only one God (you may call him Allah, Rahman, Johowa......) and this was the message brought by all the prophets i,e Adam, Nooh, Loot, Ibraham, Isac, Jakob..........Moses, Jesus, Mohammad (peace be upon them all)

I do not have hate in my heart for Muslims. I know most want peace. Christians and Muslims and Jews have a history of living in peace. Unfortunately, a few maniacs in all religions cause havoc for all of us.
I honestly believe that once the Israeli - Palestinian issues are resolved - we will see a strong world wide peace movement.
We should pray.

I don't agree that almost all questions are about Muslims. I see a wide variety of questions about different faiths. But I do agree with Thov that it only takes one or two individuals to give a religion a bad name in the eyes of others. That is probably one of the saddest truths.

This is what happens when people do not investigate matters for themselves and just accept biased second-hand information. Anyone who actually sought out an average muslim and talked to them with an open mind would have all of their stereotypes melted away...

Unfortunately the ones that are bad undermine the ones that are good. Look at the london bus bombings... those punks were citizens, who would have guessed they would do such a thing.. and it is a muslim thing.. some people are claiming christians have the same problem by blowing up abortion clinics but those acts are condemned by that community... I don't see this condemnation coming from the muslim community. I just see anger that we are associating them with the bombings.

Many of us have studied the Quaran!
The word "Islam" means to SUBMIT!
We, in the free world, do not appreciate how the process of getting the whole world to SUBMIT is being carried out.
