This is when the hair is too long to hold on one rod.

You would start the first roller in the middle of the hair shaft and roll down to the scalp. The ends of your hair will not be rolled at this point. Then you would use another rod to roll the end down to the base located at the first roller.

It kind a produces a half inch to a 1 inch section that is not curled, depending on the size of the rod used.

I don't like to do piggy back. I prefer to use the long flexible rods on long hair.

It is for really long hair. Basically you use 2 curlers for each section of hair. (BTW - Just DON'T perm! I've had 2 in my life and hated both. I will never do that again.)

its where you use two rods on one strand of hair. one for each half of the strand...hope that answered your question!!
