Wax paper is fine, however, the wax will smoke your entire kitchen up. I have used it in desperate cookie times! Just keep the windows open!

Your best bet is to get the baking paper that professional's use. (More than likely you can find it in the baking isle, or the same isle you found wax paper). I used it when I worked in the food service industry. However, I don't use it for cooking at home.
I personally wouldn't trust wax paper, as it might catch on fire or melt, and there is no guarantee these days that it is plain old paper and wax.

Its ok to use just but it was side down but parchment paper is even better we use it all the time at my job I work in a restaurant,...I actaully just called a few deiiferent places that do nothing but bake and they said just bake it with the was side down and it will be fine....No worries hun I bake for a living and would not stir u worng

The wax melts, so no.
Use parchmeant paper, it is ment for that purpose and u can find it in the same aisle as plastic wrap and aluminum foil

Go to your cooking store and buy some silpat. That stuff is great! Nothing sticks to it and your cookie sheets stay nice and clean.
