I need to get some 100% cotton Pottery Barn slipcovers dyed and do not want to attempt it myself. Mine have faded and the sofa size has been discontinued. I have found 3 companies on the Internet--1 in Oregon, 1 in Canada, and 1 in San Francisco--that advertise that they provide the service. It looks like it will be around $400. Has anybody used such a company and what was your experience?

I haven't had experience with this before, but knowing that new slipcovers are near this expensive ($14 - $100 typically) I would recommend you see if you can't find a new one. Slipcovershop.com (http://www.slipcovershop.com/Product_List/furniture_slipcover.asp) has premade covers and also does custom made covers, so I would think this is a better option. The show that they have a lot of cotton fabric ones so if the fabric is the issue, they offer it. And it looks like standard shipping is free.

If your price is a misprint, and it should have been $40, that would be a lot more reasonable for cost!
