There is a twenty acre woods being bulldozed for farmland in my neighborhood. I'd like to make the dozer inoperable. I don't want to make it immediately noticable. Something like salt in the diesel fuel or something like that. Something that will take a day or so to ruin the motor.

Your picking on the wrong guy - the bulldozer operator is not the person responsible for development. The people who are responsible are the local government that issued a permit for the development, and the developer that is paying for the development. Messing up the bulldozer doesn't have any effect on the people that are behind the development. Pick on those responsible instead - write letters to the newspaper, picket the office of the developer, get a bunch of neighbors together and complain to your city or county government.

This is an illegal activity that your are asking about. You would be subject to criminal prosecution for vandalism. Remember that you do not own the bulldozer and have no right to destroy it.
Also, you do not own the woods and have no right to impose your will on the use of the land. Therefore you are considering infringing the rights of both the property owner and the owner of the bulldozer. Put yourself in their shoes and consider how you would react if you owned the land!

Also, it is a very shortsided endeavor you are considering, because you will get caught (your yahoo account is trackable) and also the bulldozers will be repaired or replaced. You will also be liable for the cost of all repairs and damages resulting from the lost use of the land and equipment. Thus you will be subject to criminal (jail) and civil (fines) penalties when you are prosecuted for this illegal action.

Farmland not so bad, but I see your problem. Are they even harvesting any of the trees or are they the type to just push them in a pile and leave them.
What you really need to do is read Edward Abby.
Oh I also think the so called 'patriot act' will try you as an Eco-terrorist even if your just thinking about it.

The best method is the drive the bulldozer into your home, then into your car. That should screw things up a bit.

Don't do it. Its illegal. You could get in a LOT of trouble, maybe go to jail, and have to pay a fine and pay to have the bulldozer fixed which could be several thousand dollars. Don't do it.

Your best option is to lie down in front of it while it is operating. You would do serious damage to the blade while it was squishing you.

I will not be an accessory to the crime. Why don't you pick a fight with the driver?
