Anytime I put in a DVD, or even when there's nothing whatsoever in the player and I turn it on, it'll sit there for a whole five minutes trying to read something and then eventually give me the same message:


"Disc Error.

-- Please eject the disc. --

Playback feature may not be available on this Disc."


It just started doing this a few days ago, and at first I thought it was a particular DVD of mine, but then I tried another one, and as it turns out, it is actually the player itself.

I've tried using a dust can inside of it, but that didn't do anything. I'm not very electronics savvy, as it were, so if anyone could come up with a solution or a possible reason as to why my DVD player suddenly decided to crap out on me, 'twould be much appreciated!

The dust can probably didn't get the dirt off of the lens. There are special DVD cleaner disks that have long, soft brushes that will wipe the lens in a few seconds. They are usually cheap, like the ones below...
