I'd say a rotti or an english mastiff....although st. bernards are build like a bull too!

Pound for pound I'd say a Rottweiler.I know for a fact that of all the dogs they have the strongest bite.

Depends what you mean.Alaskan Malamutes can haul the heaviest sledges but this is not a fair test of strength as other large breeds are not interested in hauling sledges and refuse to do it.

I believe that per inch American Pit Bull terriers have the most powerful jaws.

What kind of strength are we talking here?

P.S. If your wanting to get the strongest breed to show off to your friends-don't.We don't need any more idiots doing that.

Just b/c a dog is large doesn't make his strong. Sled dogs! Siberian Huskies! Pound-for-pound they are the strongest. Check out the link below for one example.

pound for pound a Newfoundland is the strongest,just last year during a exhibition one towed 6 (six adults) across a harbour.
