All vehicles of 3.1 ton and above must be restricted to 56mph no later than April 11th 2007.Any vehicle that is required to have a limiter fitted is not permitted in the fast lane of motorways. The date it comes into force is 11/04/2007.

yes you are correct all Vans over 3.5T restricted to 56 mph and have to be fitted for a Tachograph. Vans registered before the first of Jan 2007 or that weigh less than 3.5 T are exempt from the new legislation

The only speed restriction on on vans is the same as the normal road user, as for the tacho yes you do need one but only if you are towing, this law is already in use, I have one on may company van.

Yes, I read this in November, not all vans, and not just white. Seems like a joke, but then all the laws and regulations in this country are a joke. You cant get any work done because of regulations!!

Cobblers. The only restrictions for white van man are the same as for cars. 7.5 tonne are taco`ed 70mph on motorways - 60mph on dual-carriageways or where lower speed restrictions apply, or 50mph on all other roads except where lower speeds are posted.
White van man has it pretty cushy.
