The three main divisions are commonly called Orthodox, Conservative and Reform. Minor divisions include Reconstructionists, humanists and others.

Within these division, especially among the Orthodox, there are many sects which tended to arise out of local groups from pre-WWII Europe....and are generally named for the town or city in which they arose.
