There may be several things going on here. Female cats will often bring live prey into the house to give to the members of it's family, other cats or it's owner. It is a kind of gift but it is also a way of training the young to hunt and kill.

First the cat brings dead things in to show the kids what they should eat. Then the cat brings live prey in and lets the kids play with it. Then the live prey is killed in front of the kids so they can learn how to do it.

You may be one of the kids here.

The cats may also be showing you what they've done. "See what I did?! Isn't it great?"

How to stop them? Wow, maybe keep them inside all the time. That might be the only way for sure.

Cats are higher up on the food chain. They are bringing them home because they are proud of what they have caught and want to show you. Have you ever heard of the game called cat and mouse. Well that is what they are doing. No way of stopping it. As for them bringing them in the house, well just don't let them in when they have one. Other then that there is nothing you can do other then to keep them in the house.

well if you are the owner, the cat sees you as the alpha male or female. as a show of submisson the cat wil bring you the fruits of its hunting foray. My cat used to do it all the time it would bring me birds and mice. In the wild the alpha male or female eats first then the betas are allowed to eat and so forth. So your cat is displaying normal behavior for a feline.

Ahhh your cats are giving you gifts. They just want you to see that they caught something. Put them in the trash and pet your cats. They will never stop doing and it will get annoying. My cat did it all the time. She has caught mice and even a live bat. All of which she dropped at my feet and meowed.

Cats think that us humans are **** at catching food. That is the good food that has fur or feathers on.

Because we look after them they have taken it on themselves to care for us as well and that means catching just about anything that runs, flys or wriggles outside.

They do this because they love you and they want to please you so they bring you gifts. Mice and birds, to a cat, is a delicacy that is best served alive.

By giving you some of the food they have captured, your cats are attempting to honor you and reward you for giving them a nice home.

When my cat, Sarah, brings me such gifts, something which occurs at least three times a week, I make sure that I pet her, tell her what a good girl she is, and then put the animal in a plastic bag and then put that in the dumpster.

you should be pleased your cats are bringing you presents as a sign of Love, there's nothing you can do to stop them apart from trying to catch them before they enter the house !!

it's their instincts as a carnivore animal. You won't be easy to change its habit. Cats aren't easy to educate as dogs, but you can do by put them inside of the house only and never let them go outside.
