My boyfriend and I are going to be getting our own apartment soon but I do not want to be the one cooking food out of a box or cans. Here's where you guys come in. I need the best breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert recipies that you have. I love cooking so a box with directions does not excite me. I love to bake but from scratch. So anything that tastes or looks good, send it to me. A site where I can find your recipe is good also. Thank you for your input.

Holiday recipies too!!!

Here are a couple of my favorites

Swiss Chicken

Brown 4 chicken breasts in a frying pan. Remove to a casserole dish. Sprinkle the chicken with some garlic powder and pepper. Top each chicken breast with a slice of swiss cheese (or any cheese you like). In a seperate bowl mix 1 can cream of chicken soup and 1/2 c sour cream. Pour the soup mixture over the chicken and bake at 350 for about 20-30 mins until hot and bubbly. I serve this over pasta.

Pork Chops in San Francisco sauce

Brown 4 boneless pork chops in a pan. Remove to a platter. In same pan saute 1 clove chopped garlic until soft. Add 1/2 c soy sauce and 1/4 c brown sugar. Mix until sugar dissolves, add back in pork chops, cover and cook about 20 mins. Add 1 TBS of cornstarch and 1 TBSP of water and stir until thickened.

Chicken Mignon

Wrap 4 chicken breasts each in 1 slice of bacon. cook in a pan turning frequently until done. Remove chicken from pan. Add 1 can of cream of chicken soup and 1/2 c sour cream to pan and mix scraping the bottom of pan. When combined add back in chicken and spoon sauce over all pieces.

These are all easy recipes that can be made after work but t hey taste like you worked really hard. You can substitute low fat soup and sour cream in them if you want. I always do.

Kelbasa, Rice, and Beans

1 cup pinto beans to 2 cups water, boil 20 minutes. Turn off heat and cover one hour. Drain (VERY IMPORTANT!!) Season, add more water and cook on high for 60-90 minutes adding water as it evaporates until the beans are soft.

When all that is done make Lemon Bars for dessert:

Lemon Bars:

1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 eggs
2 T. flour
2 tsp. grated fresh lemon peel
3 T. fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp. baking powder
Powdered sugar

For crust, in a medium mixing bowl beat butter with
mixer on medium to high speed
till softened. Add 1/4 cup of the sugar. Beat till
thoroughly combined. Then beat in 1
cup flour till mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press
into ungreased 8x8x2-inch baking
pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, for lemon mixture, in the same mixing bowl
beat eggs on medium speed
just till foamy. Add the remaining sugar, 2 tablespoons
flour, lemon juice, baking
powder and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Beat on medium speed
about 3 minutes or till slightly
thickened. Stir in lemon peel. Pour mixture over baked
crust. Bake at 350 degrees for
20-25 minutes or till lightly golden around edges and
center is set. Cool in pan on rack.
Sift powdered sugar over top. Cut into bars. Store,
covered, in refrigerator. 16 bars
