And how much of it is safe to eat?....My husband eats a can a day and I'm not sure thats a good idea.. I'd like to buy the safest one possible.

Albacore and chunk light are the HIGHEST in mercury. All others are lower. One can a day is too much. They recommend a maximum of three servings of tuna per week.

Yeah, it's sort of a drag, because the kinds of tuna that are highest in the Omega 3 acids that are so good for our bodies (the "white" tuna) are also highest in mercury. I've read that eating any more than about two six-ounce cans a week is pushing it a little. Maybe three if you use the darker ("light") tuna.

It's always something.

Mercury concentration depends on the size of the fish you are eating. It's not like where the fish is from etc... Bigger fish eat smaller fish, therefore, mercury concentration is bigger fish is always higher than smaller fish.

Yea ive heard the darker the tuna the safer it is.
