You need to setup a new port, its your firewall blocking it! Go to your firewall settings, in start menu, then control panel, then double click the firewall icon "it looks like a shield" and add a new port, copy the port number you have e.g "38859" paste it in! It should allow you to download and upload!! If you get a yellow cirlce in utorrent or azereus, it has'nt worked properly, it should be green!!
Hope ive helped you!! :o)

Some torrent software downloading programs begin automagically when you click a link from a torrent listing web site. Other torrent software does not. I like Azureus, it optimizes everthing during the download and lets you pick which files, BUT you have to connect the link to start the download command. Azureus comes with a lot of online help.
Also, torrent downloads are slow. Count on 4 days for 2 gigabyte.

You need to go to a bittorrent site like www.torrentspy.com or www.isohunt.com and find what you are looking for. I would use Azureus, I actually heard of this new version of azureus called bityrant which accelerates your downloads. Keep in mind that how fast something downloads is based off the amount of seeders to the lesser amount of leeches.

if you're using the original bittorrent scrap it
i personally find the best bittorrent right now is utorrent
the bittorrent was giving me too much problems the older versions like 4.4.1 was the best at the time but is too slow these days
next you need to go to your firewall and configure your ports for that bittorent
if using a router you need to set up your port forwarding
also make sure that your security software like norton or watever youre using has to be set up also
it took me months to get everything running properly
check the FAQs for the site you wan't to download from
make sure you've enabled cookies for that site
good luck

it could be that the torrent you're using is dead - even thogh you can download teh file there may not be anyone sharing - red usually means little to no activity.
It may also be that you have downloaded a torrent from but the tracker site requires you to have membership.

It means the file doesn't have a good location on the internet. Try another tracker (the .torrent file).

Hi,
This is simple, have you got "BitComet Version 8.3" there is lots of bugs is this Version install 8.4 or use 7.0 like me. Have you set the default download location (C:\Downloads) when you start to download or it will save them as temp address. Don't get me wrong BitComet is the best PTP around. Hope this helps.
