Practically anything can become an addiction. Being addicted to the Internet, or gaming is common, though not usually harmful to one's health. It can certainly destroy relationships though! There is a place in Amsterdam where you can go for help with online addictions, and possibly many more that I am unaware of.

Giving up smoking is proved to be the one major thing that will significantly improve your health. Smoking is the cause of many diseases, not just cancer. And yes, I used to smoke (a lot), and giving up is HARD, but worth it.

While smoking is a risk factor for several kinds of cancer (as well as heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, noncancer lung disease, and many other disorders), and probably the most common preventable cause of cancer overall, it would not be correct to say that it's responsible for most cancer.
Anything can lead to addictive behavior, be it smoking, or playing video games, but the difference between those two things is that smoking actually causes a physiological dependence on nicotine and physical withdrawal when you stop, whereas things like gambling may be psychologically addictive, but do not cause a physical addiction.

Xbox 360 and PS2 are not hazardous to your health. Although don't leave your PS2 on, they have been known to catch on fire. Then you'll be smokin' after all!
