I have liked this guy Hayden Blackmer since 5th grade. Right from the moment he sat next to me I liked him. We have a lot in common: we both like basketball, music, drawing, etc. I am now in 8th grade and I still like him. During 5th and 6th grade I was always his confidante and he told me I was a good listener. Then when we went on to middle school everything changed. We didn't have any classes together so now I only see him before classes in the morning and lunch and in the hallways between classes. We barely talk anymore. People always told me he had a "thing" for me and my friend said he brought up my name totally randomly on their bus and she thought it was odd. He asked her if I liked him and she told him yes I did, I think. How do we come onto speaking terms again? How do I show him I am still interested? I really like him and have for a very long time. What do I talk about? How do I flirt with him? Please I need HELP!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you just call him?

The best way to flirt is to always give him a great smile. Walk up and talk to him, life is too short to be unhappy. Guys like a woman that has a great personality and a sense of humour. Ask him if he has time to get a coffee and catch up on the past. Talk about the old times when you had a lot of fun. He likes you or he wouldn't of brought it up to your friend. There is so much you can talk to him about, his interests, is he interested in going to college and what does he think he will do for a career, what is his favorite things to do for a pastime, what kind of movies and books does he like, does he play video games, does he have siblings and does he get along well with his family. What subjects is he taking and does he enjoy them. What kind of music does he like, would he be interested in going to dinner and a movie. Would he like to spend a saturday with you. Take your time and enjoy life you are a great listener already be the best friend you can be and things will go from there. Communication is the key to any relationship. Take care Heather

What you could try is asking him to meet you somewhere, you could do it directly or indirectly with your friends. Try to get him somewhat in a are where you can atleast talk. Talk about your past how you two used to take classes together and how you missed it, just lean into it. Remember you're a woman if you work it right he might just confess his feelings. If not drop him some hints. Dont spoon feed him.. Allow him to take the first move, if he doesn't keep dropping hints. He'll get it soon.

Arrange for a bunch of your friends (girls and guys) to go bowling and invite him. Make sure you are on the same team and just have fun. Things will progress naturally if you let them. And don't rely on your friends to speak for you. Look his number up and call him, (he'll get the message much clearer) and he'll feel free to contact you also. Good luck and God Bless.

HELLO!!!! you are 13. Trust me when I say this.......focus on your studies and leave the boys alone. You have a whole life ahead of you. Right now is not the time for you to be worrying about flirting with this guy.

Get your friends all to go to the show and invite him. Then give him a little extra attention on the date. You know sit by him at the show. Walk by him a little on the way to show or home. Then start a convo. up about a new movie and see if he asks you to go to it together.

I just want to say how nice it is to see an articulate, well composed, properly spelled post by someone your age. I was beginning to worry for the future of mankind. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and talk to him. If it doesn't happen with him there will be many more to choose from.
