Well if by weird you mean, not mainstream. Wiccans have a very different view of sexuality than the mundane conservative ideals that most of us are taught in our youth. Wiccans view sex as not just an act of procreation, but an act of pleasure and an act of spirituality. We believe that sex is one way to harness magickal energy. Although the practice is not common, many covens use ritual sex as part of many Solar festivals called Sabbats. Especially those Sabbats that center around fertility like Beltane (May Day, May 1st.) Many traditional covens have a ceremony called The Great Rite or Great Marriage where a two people, usually the High Priest and Priestess, have sex while in circle (a circle is cast before ritual in most covens) Other covens will do a mock Great Rite usually done in interpretive danceor other symbolic method. This can be seen also in the May Pole, a n ancient Pagan custom where the Pole which is represents the male Phallus and the ribbons or cloth that wrap around the pole as feminine.
When I became Pagan, I started to notice immediately how much our culture still reveres the phallus. One of my most memorable experiences was going to Washington DC, the height of conservative culture in many respects. I remember walking in the Air and Space Museum and being barraged by many phallic objects such as missles, rockets, planes and even the occasional phallic satellite. I then walked outside only to notice the Washington Monument which has been referenced as a phallus in popular culture on several occasions. Even Marge Simpson giggled when she saw it.
Once we realize this fact, the sexuality of spirituality no longer seems weird because we realize that it is only one more sexual part of our culture.

Nothing more weird (or weirder I should say) than some other religions.
I have known a few wiccans and they were some of the most religiously open minded people I have ever known. They did not condemn others for not following their religion and they did not try to convert. In fact, they kept their religion a part of their personal life and not a public kind of thing.
If I had a choice of being imprisoned with a fundamentalist christian or a fundamentalist wiccan (if there is such a thing), I would choose the wiccan.

Well, calling yourself a "witch" would be considered "weird" by some. The equivalent to the word "witch" has a negative connotation in every language on earth, including the non-Christian ones. http://usminc.org/meaning.html In some traditions like Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Algard, Frostie, and others, the rituals involve worshipping in the nude, being tied up and "scourged", which is basically sado=masochism. Frostie Wicca is probably the weirdest of all.
"He falls to the ground before the flamenca. She symbolically whips him with his own whip.He kisses her foot; she helps him to rise. He points his ankh [symbol of the God’’s authority] at her. She fall to the ground. He symbolically whips her. She kisses his foot; he helps her to rise."[ Good Witch's Bible page 69 and 70]
Page113 and 114The problem, of course ,is that the woman can easily be turned into a nymphomaniac. Two things must occur with a woman to give her back lost confidence: First, she must live with a male Witch for nine days and though she requests it he must not have intercourse with her; Second, she must have sex and reach a climax in front of the assembled coven. She will lose her inhibitions by the public act.
[So, the way to cure an oversexed woman is to make her part of a live sex show for the coven??? Yeah, that will work! And I’m sure they honestly have her best interests at heart and don’t want to exploit her, too! If you believe that, can I interest you in some Florida swampland? ]
Cutting someone's arm to draw blood might be found wierd by some:
"The woman cuts the man’’s forearm so that she draws blood.[The easiest way to produce the necessary cut is to pinch the flesh with one hand and cut with the other.]"
"M and W: "We use our holy athame to show that we are willing to spill our own and the other’’s blood and that our blood will mingle sweetly as will our lives."
The woman cuts the man’’s forearm and her owm left wrist. The man cuts her forearm and his own right wrist. The flamenca binds the cut wrists and then the intertwined hands together.[page The Good Witch's Bible by Gavin and Yvonne Frost 73 and 74]
Table 5 has the instructions for the deflowering of pubescent Wiccan girls:
"You have been entrusted with two phalli; these are in our care until your initiation. We would like you to be initiated at the next coven meeting, which will take place on ... This means that, excluding your menstruation time, you have three weeks to prepare your muscles for introitus. Your father or your sponsor will help you if you have any difficulties or pain."
[On page 99 are the instructions for making the dildo! So a father raping his daughter with a didlo is part of Wicca!Suddenly stories about Satanic Ritual Abuse aren't so far fetched, huh? And I guess such things never lead to incest, right? EEEEYEAH. I think the idea of a 12 year old girl carving a phalus so her dad can rape her with it might be akin to Satanism in some people'sminds.]
True, some Christians might be considered "weird", like the Amish, but they don't bother anybody and their happy.

hmmm... lets see whats "weird" about the religion I follow?
First we need to define what you consider weird..
1. We do not try and "convert" people.. other wiccans/pagans find their own way to this path, on their own time.
2. We live our lives by "harm none". Is it weird not to pray for someone to die? Is it weird to love all things? Is it weird to love nature and animals as well as each other? Not in my book its not..
3. We do NOT make blood or any other type of sacrifises..
4. We do not fly around on broomsticks.
5. people will find something weird about anything they do not believe in. No matter what religion it is.
6. The majority of why people think wicca is "weird" is due to lack of knowledge about the religion.
I am not saying that there are no weird people involved in this religion, there are weird people involved in every religion or non religion.
But to me there is nothing weird with loving others and all things.

There is nothing wrong or weird about the Wiccan religion(my religion) I have been praticing wiccan beliefs for about 3 years now. I see nothing that would make you think that we are different. Yes people think that we are evil and always were black, and do sacrifices, well thats not us. Im not saying there aren't weird people among us, like any other religion. If your going to say something about wiccanism please do your research and know what you are talking about.

Only the people who practise it are weird. The vast majority of them anyway...
In theory, I think Wicca is beautiful, but it seems to be full of losers that are desperate to feel more in control of their own lives. So they take up wicca and suddenly they feel powerful because they can cast 'spells'.
I can't stand the silly people who practise it and brag about how powerful they are and walk around wearing black and saying things like 'blessed be.' They are desperate for attention...
Thats why I gave it up, anyway. I didn't want to be associated with those people

Nothing. If you don't practice a certain religion, it's going to seem odd in its customs, but that's true for everything.
