It's SAD to see how some have automatically ASSUMED you asked about "unreasonable violence" and thrown the comments about police in the equation!

For those who responded about police this or police that....you need to read the question.

The answer is: One should not judge anything about "unreasonable violence" as there is NO EXCUSE for violence to start with.

IF this question was about the use of "FORCE" and not "violence" then consider the question this way....How should we judge "unreasonable force?"

"Unreasonable force" would be that force in EXCESS of the minimum force necessary to subdue an offender!

Was the violence reasonable in the circumstances? Would you or a reasonable person act in the same way as the perpetrator of the said violence?

With a jury. Let 12 men and women decide if the violence is reasonable or not.

Cops should be held to the same standards as everyone else. By law, if you are attacked and fight back you become the aggressor once the attacker is subdued, if you continue to beat him, you are assaulting him, and can be prosecuted for doing so. Cops should be judged by the same law.

Only that force necessary to gain and maintain control of a situation should be used. Sometimes that means deadly force when faced with deadly force.

Unreasonably. Beat down offenders the same way they beat down their victims. And then put roaches in their underpants.
