I've noticed a lot of questions flying around about whether being a virgin is a turn-off, and a lot of people reply saying "it's admirable" "it's sweet " etc.
But really, do they mean it, or are they just writing that to make the asker feel better?
I confess that I am a virgin (kissed, but no cigar), and I'm contemplating on doing the deed. I'm 21 BTW.

The decision to have, or not have, a sexual relationship is a personal choice. People choose virginity for a variety of reasons. It is the reason rather than the virginity per se that is most telling. For example, one who is a virgin because he/she thinks they look gross naked gives off an entirely different vibe than a person who chooses to "stay pure" for romantic or religious grounds.
I would say the decision is yours. Don't worry about what others may think unless you're planning on having sex as part of a spectator event.

well, if you've been raised in a culture same as mine, then it is really and totally OK to be a virgin. and people mean it when they say such things. if you're still a virgin then be proud of it. what's wrong with being one? don't ever think of losing it just for stupid and shallow reasons. and when you do it make sure it is with the right person not just bcoz the society's been doing it.

I personally respect people who wait till they meet the right person and don't take part in the 'race' to lose their virginity. Nothing wrong with being a virgin, even at ur age.

I'm a girl and I think that girls really find it cute. At lest I do. But if your going to let go of it first make sure that your at least a little bit in love and that she not know that your a virgin because it might make her self concise about how she dose cause its your first time and then not what to do it.

It depends. If theyre using it as a line to get someone into the sack or they look at the asker as a "poor you" for never having sex, I guess they dont mean it.

I think some people feel that way, I do. Others (mainly men) will say that to a girl to try to get closer to her so they can persuade her to do it.
