Because alot of people out there like to sit around and think they know what's in the bible, and disagree to the fullest. Like Atheists... Alot of them will sit there and say alot of things, but have never actually read the bible. All we can do is pray for them, and ask God to forgive them. I'm not saying that all "Church goers" are righteous, because there are alot of them that do take advantage of people and the sort, so maybe this is why there are so many atheists out there, because they haven't learned to put God and not that particular person in the center of their life. Thanks for the question. God Bless. :)

Most people believe (whether they admit to
it or not) in some level of the scientific method.
That is, you make a theory, you perform a
test to either prove or disprove your theory.
If the test fails, you probably need to come
up with another theory.
If you think a rock is lighter than air
and you see the rock falling, you need to at
least re-think your hypothesis.
You may not want to call it
"science", but the methodology has existed
for longer than any particular religion, only
getting more rigorous as it has come into
its own.
The existence or non existence of God cannot
follow empirical reasoning. Indeed, though
there are many historically accurate things in
the Bible, there is lots of stuff that defies logic
empircal reasoning and/or other historical record.
That is, from the point of view of the MAJORITY
of the world's population, now and throughout, the
Bible is JUST A BOOK.
So: More people believe in scientific method
at least to some degree than they do in the Bible.
Scientific method has the virtue of being useful
to predict future action - the Bible is not useful
for predicting anything in the immediate future.
As we understand more and more of how and
why things work, we get further away from
mysticism.
That's not to say that God does or doesn't
exist - but clearly the concepts of the people
writing that particular book up to about 1700
years ago are very far out of date.

Over the centuries, the Bible has been misconcepted and revised so many times that it's even a mystery why it even exists today. There are so many versions, I cannot even begin to count. Professors and Scholars have torn the bibles apart just to find out clues as to what is going to happen to our planet as we know it. With that being said, in the book of Genesis, it speaks of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit. In the minds eye, God has made them blind to temptation and to prove this, God put up a barrier, so to speak. Now, Adam and Eve knew that being nude was a natural thing, that is, until the asp came along and encouraged them both to eat the forbidden fruit and when God came back, He asked why they were hiding in the bush. Of course, God already knew the answer and thus casted them out of the Garden of Eden, forever. The point I'm trying to make is, If they didn't eat of the forbidden fruit, temptation probably would not exist today as we know it. Temptation for the good or temptation for the wicked? This is what blindness is. There is so much wickedness that some of us cannot see past it or choose not to see past it because it takes a little extra hard work. It's called Earning our right to the Gates of Heaven. And since some of us are blind, we are given choices because he loves us that much that he did not want his humanity to be a dead issue and thus, The Bible Is Born, Written accounts of history and the birth and death of Jesus Christ. God is only a spirit, He needed a physical body, a shepard to tend a flock and to preach the divine words of the second coming. How meek are those who don't even muster a mustard seed of faith!? This is why they shall inherit the earth. It's all out of blindness. Had it not been for blindness, this world today, would be in Peace and Harmony. Your day of the rapture is coming. Hail to you, child of God, bless your soul and may you dwell in the house of the Lord, forever. Note to the Athiests and the like, Stop spending our money for it also says," IN GOD WE TRUST"...

People think the Bible isn't true because it take work to really understand what it's saying. I've been studying the Bible for a long time and am still learning new things. It is worth the effort.
Bless you sister.

The bible is not true. If god is awesome and has changed you, then great. But don't make the assumption that you believing in something means that everyone else has to too.

First, let me say that I'm happy for you that it has changed you. I hope the change is for the better. But I don't know you or anything about you, so why should I just take your word for it that the bible is true?

The reason why people react in unbelief as they do........is because they have not yet been called by God to serve Him in this age. Maybe in the next age after the Millennim reign of Christ in the White Throne Judgment. Only God knows when and who will be called to serve. God is not calling everyone to their salvation at this time. As of right now, most of the world has been spiritually blinded to the truth. Not because God doesn't want everybody to come to their redemption, but that God already knows who WILL hear and accept His gift of grace at this time through faith in understanding the Word , and who will not.

The Bible defines itself as "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4, and as "mystery" over twenty times in NT.
Scriptures were written "aforetime" for our "learning".
So it's a learning game of hide & seek, seek & find.
- "seek" first the kingdom of God AND his righteousness
- "find" grace, at the throne of grace, to help, in time
Plural and contrary scriptures example:
- "I will forsake you"
- "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee"
So, obviously two Gods or one bi-polar God.
If same God, avoid in case having a bad day.
Two Gods are notably "on high" and "higher":
- Grace: in "heaven": "higher than the heavens" on high
- Law: "on high" in the plural divided "heavens"
Hint: mind not high things: Romans 12:16
Hint: be not high-minded: Romans 11:20; 1Timothy 6:17
Hint: high-minded listed among unholy things: 2Timothy 3
Note: ppl recovering from getting high, to the point of harming themselves and others, afterward speak of a "higher" power.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

I agree with you, On the last day judgment day. The people that always wanted proof that god does exist will know then God does exist, but it will be to late for them.`We are living in the last days and Satan attacks will intensify. If we are faithful to the end we will share in all that belongs to Christ. Your sister in Christ...Josie
