in terms of body im just normal but im not fat but nor do i have a 6 pack, probably a 4 pack. do i need to do cardio if im still wanting to gain lean mass?

You don't neeeed to do cardio if you just want to gain weight (however, I'd still recommend 10-15 minutes of cardio before you begin lifting).

However, if you want to be cut (6 pack, etc.), doing cardio helps rid you of the excess fat so you can see your muscle definition more clearly.

No if you are trying to gain mass you need to eat eat eat clean foods and high in protein foods also supplement with protein powders such as whey or muscle milk and you need to rest longer between workout sessions like take 3-7 days off so the muscle has real time to recover and get bigger also use creatine

Have you heard that 'abs are made in the kitchen'? Your six pack is right there, under your fat. It looks like you've got the excercise sorted, you now need to clean up your diet to get that body fat% down. You should have a six pack when you hit around 10%-12% mark (some people need to go lower).

I think your high calorie protein supplements may be hindering your progress. Nutrition is crutial when working on your body composition and I cannot stress this enough but it needs to be smart.

yeah exercises like cardio is one of the best way to gain muscle mass besides dieting. i think it's healthier too since there's no arguement that exercise is good for you.
