It would be a huge mistake and not solve anything. The US needs to get out of the business of telling other countries how to live and work of fixing the big problems here at home.

It depends on how we decided to go about doing it.
For example - enriching uranium requires _huge_ amounts of electricity. Knock out the power plants and they cannot do any enriching.
Another trick would be an EMP attack that destroys the electronic controllers for the centrifuges and pumps. This would cause the centrifuges to perform something similar to a hard disk crash and leave the Iranians with a real nasty mess of scrap centrifuges filled with uranium hexafloride gas (which is both radioactive and very poisonous).
Of course there is the option that we have been pursuing for the past several years. Economic and political strangulation. There is a good chance that at the rate we are going - Iran will not be able to afford their nuclear program in a few years.

A worst-case scenario would unroll if the United States were to launch a major air strike against Iranian nuclear facilities in the next few months.
A limited air strike against a "choke point," such as the Iranian uranium conversion facility at Isfahan, would likely disrupt Iran's nuclear program for a long time. The problem is what happens then.
Iran has six or seven possible and likely responses, all of which are devastating to regional and international security. They could, of course, strike back militarily, directly with strikes against the United States and Iraq or allies such as Israel. That's possible, although I would consider it unlikely. They could take military action to block the Strait of Hormuz. That's possible. They could stop selling oil. They could use their connections with Hizbullah, whom they fund generously every year to launch terrorist strikes against U.S. interests.
The could do all of the above, in any event, the consequences will be monumental, get ready for the ride.

It would not only be hypocritical, but foolish if America went there and did that to Iran. If they did that, we would have even more terrorism than we would if we left them alone. We don't need to be Big Brother toward any country. I'm sure they know about the possibility, because some of our government officials have been talking with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad about this. Yes, I think it would require an invasion. If someone is going to destroy buildings in a country, they definitely have to invade the country, unless they are persuasive enough to get the government to do it themselves.

little question approximately it! it quite is not a remember of 'if' yet 'while'. likely scenario IMO would be Israel attacking Iranian Nuclear centers, in return Iran retaliating. it quite is at this diploma many eventualities emerge, some even fearing it could convey approximately interior of reach or worse international conflict. there is likewise huge tension on Bush, inner and exterior. Israel has needless to say reported Israel needs US to attack Iran. Opinion is chop up - at one side Cheney & Co advocating attack, on the different protection Secretary Gates taking a careful concepts-set.

It would be a lot of bombing. Some of the sites are bunkers which would mean that nuclear bunker busters would be used and that would really fück up everything so if they dont know about the possibility now then they will find out soon enough if they dont stop enriching. The damage caused by these bombs will not be an easy cleanup.

We can always hope that Israel decides to pull another Osirak and take care of the problem for everyone. I'm sure that Iran has considered that possibility.
