If man came from monkeys, as the theory of evolution claims, then why are there still monkeys?

People from different religions should meet and ask each other:
1. What exactly is your belief system? (first of all, many religious ppl don't know anything about other people's religion, besides their stereotyped understanding)
2. In which ways are you intolerant of my beliefs?
3. Where in our religious literature, does it say explicitly that we are supposed to be intolerant, ignorant and violent towards one another? Where does it talk about persecution? Can we find passages which are similar in their need for charity, improvement of society and respectful living?
4. Why do you have this belief system? Did you come to your own conclusions or did you have society choose it for you?
5. How can we work together to make this world a better place, full of love and mutual respect and benefit, instead of hatred and warfare?

I'm not sure that it's the questions that will help. It has to be an attitude of the askers and answers to be tolerant of others' beliefs. This is not an easy thing to do, especially when you know/feel/belief that others are wrong and your belief system is right.
Other things that would help is to have a good understanding ot the other belief systems, too often we fire off questions that are meaningless or show a total lack of understanding of the current thought (examples "rabbits chewing cuds" or "why are monkeys around, if we evolved from them").
But mostly it is up to each of us to commit to being tolerant even if we don't agree.

I would like to read completely unharnessed questions, striped of the niceties and politics, that probe deeply into the bowels of each form of worship and opinion of what is reality, warped, morphed or other wise. Let them be sarcastic, spastic, thought provoking, funny, indigent, outraged, outreaching, searching, screaming, intolerant, aberrant, blasphemous, brilliant, even some that are open minded and let the People think!

Regular or Menthol? Cream? Sugar? Would you like fries with that? More beer, sir? Would you like a complimentary donut? Have you accepted Jesus today? No? How about Mohamed? Will George EVER be done with his term? Would you like a little mint? Who came first, the man or the chick? God or Man? Chicken or Egg.... #1 or #2?

if ppl would ask real questions instead of slamming some 1 about their beliefs that would help. i asked a question about how atheists became an atheist and i had some really great and NICE answers about it. they were honest and didnt slam me or God in their answers. just ask a simple decent question and they will be honest w/their answers. if u want to no something about some 1 dont slam them.

I think the current crop of snarky, self-important, satirical jabs at religion, posing as "questions", are doing the job just fine...
I just wish someone had the balls for a real debate on the subject.

I'm not sure if it's an issue of understanding. I think it's an issue of belief and action.
I understand where Christian and Islamic fundamentalists are coming from......I don't need to read their scripture to condemn their actions.
It's what they do, say, and profess to believe that I find offensive.

I'd like to be able to get rid of the trollish christian bashers who post constant "questions" which are nothing more than one sentence insults. Get rid of the trolls, it would be a much nicer environment, we wouldn't have to sift thru pages of questions just to find a legitimate one, it would just be better for everyone all around.

"they show the same intolerance toward any other views other than theyre own." Really? Could you provide an example of an atheist saying that a Christian shouldn't be allowed to believe what they believe, or that they should not be afforded equal rights due to the fact that there is no God? "they show the same certainty rather than admitting that both of theyre arguments have both valid points & giant holes." Please show me the "giant hole" in the statement, "Please provide evidence to support your claims", or in the statement, "There is no evidence for God, so there is no logical reason to think one exists".
