i exercise in the morning, and i am very motivated at the END of the day, when i set my alarm for the crack of dawn, and set out my workout clothes. but i almost always hit the snooze a couple of times, or if i do get up on time, move veeerrryy ssssllooowwwly, with plenty of diversions and distractions.
i am also very motivated during and after exercise. just not before.

I think there are two effective motivation methods.
The first one would be a work out buddy. Just make a deal with someone that you'll meet at ## am in the morning. It's unlikely you'll want to stand up your friends, so, you'll be there. Also, try picking a class that's at a specific time, if you miss it, then you'll have to do double of that on a boring cardio machine.
The second one would be a reward. Create a reward for yourself, someone kind of a treat, and if you stick to your routine, you get your treat.

Well, you could change your workout time to the end of the day and not have to get up early to do it. Getting up at the crack of dawn isn't very motivating for a lot of people. I get up between 4:30 and 5:00 every morning to workout and it doesn't bother me. Anyway, it sounds like you're doing good so far with setting out your clothes. At that time of day it's important to start slow - your body is still waking up and adjusting to being vertical. One motivation key that helps me is to know how good I will feel when I'm done and how awful I'll feel if I skip it.

You probably need a period every day when you imagine the positive changes that exercising will make possible. If you can really put yourself into the images of the better you, then you will get the energy to make them possible and you will get your butt out of the recliner to make it happen. I'd suggest starting the day with a short period of this mental exercise, and a minute or two before every meal, and definitely every time you get the urge to eat too much or do something that will set you back from your goals. If you wait to be inspired to exercise, rather than create your own inspiration, you may wait too long and then have to struggle just to get back to where you were. Good luck.

Just get up and walk every morning. I used to hit the snooze all the time, but now I wake up a few seconds before the alarm, and already have my walking clothes ready to go. Take your mp3 player with you , or cd player, and listen to motivational songs while you go on your walk. It will change your day entirely, and then your life
I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.
A sight with some really cool diet calculators and interesting calorie counting calculators is here. Check it out.

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.
Good LUCK!

If you are more motivated in the evening, go then. My husband goes to the gym at 4:00 a.m. I used to go with him at that time. I just can't do it. I actually fell asleep on the weight bench.
I do my workouts at 4:00 p.m. or sometimes later.
I change things up a bit too. Instead of walking on the treadmill, I walk outside or on the school track.
I have 3 different pilates DVDs & I switch them up a bit.
Sometimes I go to the gym, but I have the kids most of the time so that's a little difficult.

Move the alarm out of your reach. Put something that you need outside in the mailbox or in the car (like maybe the coffee maker!).
Don't plan to exercise. Just plan to get the coffee maker. Believe me if you get that far you'll end up retrieving the coffee maker on the way back after exercising.
