I'm finding more and more fatigue that is not fought off by caffeine or medication, more and more difficulty concentrating and focusing, more and more apathy, more classes missed. I sleep, plenty, and often times some during the day, but don't feel rested. I am chronically depressed, but this is a preexisting condition that is being treated.

Could be more then burnout, you should speak with your pshyciatrist and medical doctor. However it could be burnout also. I work in a job that has a high burnout rate, and I've felt some of those things pretty often myself. If talking with your Doctors doesn't help. Try your school cousler, maybe its time to take a look at what your doing, and see if its still something your interested in continuing.

Since you are already being treated for depression, have you told your doc about these symptoms you are having ?
Burnout is definitely real ! My sister-in-law went through this.
She was always tired, didn't want to see anybody, go anywhere,
etc.
But it can also be symtoms for an underactive thyroid. Have you had your thyrod checked recently. My husband also had these same symptoms and since his sister was on a burnout, he thought he was also. But after having his thyroid checked, that was the problem ! He is on synthroid now and feels good again.
Hope this helps.

Yes burn out is real and every thing you said could have been said by me. I was going to suggest your suffering from depression until I read your last sentence. For sleep because you suffer from depression you need to realize that you'll never get enough sleep.

take the time to exercise and eat better...this will help the more you sleep the less you feel like doing....even if it is something light to start with like yoga or some gentle swimming....a walk in the park...you will refreshed and be doing something for yourself...get rid of the caffine and get some multi vitamins...even if you dont feel like it just do.....motivation follows action....trust me i know
