I agree with Morey and in addition, I would vote for the SD800 because the SD630 does not offer an optical viewfinder. Okay, I use the LCD too, but I would like the opportunity to turn off the LCD and just use the regular viewfinder when I don't want to go poking my camera a foot and a half in front of me to take the picture or when I want to conserve my battery. Get the SD800.
Be aware, though, that the widest wide angle portions will be a bit distorted if you use the full-wide 28 mm position. This actually kind of makes the SD700-IS more attractive, because its wide angle - although "only" 35 mm - is all good and it will zoom out to 140 mm instead of only 105 mm, which is pretty mild as far as a telephoto lens goes. It's also about fifty bucks cheaper than the SD800-IS.
Check out this comparison page. Click on "In-depth review" and "Read Owner Opinions" for each camera. Be sure to note that the reviews are many pages long so you don't stop after page one. Check the sample images, also. You can enlarge these to full size images if you click on the link below the picture. You will have to then put your cursor in the white space to the right of the picture and click once. After that, you can pass your cursor over the image and it will turn into a magnifier. once you're speaking approximately function and huge decision of use and % extra suitable factors/applications, then A620 is extra useful by using fact it quite is 7 megapixels (final era regrettably yet nevertheless large), 4x optical zoom (farther than SD630's 3x), a turn show screen, and macro that focuses so close you will get the lense very almost suitable against your undertaking. That and you nevertheless have a viewfinder so which you would be able to shop on battery potential and turn off the show screen, or additionally shoot in bright photograph voltaic. SD630 is large in that it has that quite large 3 inch show screen and the hi ISO function (enables you to shoot as much as 800 ISO with minimum grain, A620 purely gets as much as 4 hundred ISO), and it is likewise quite quite small. A620 makes use of four AA batteries, so in case you commute lots it quite is slightly extra useful given which you will get AA batteries everywhere in the international. SD630 makes use of a li-ion battery, or perhaps although the small length of the two the digicam and the charger (it quite is the comparable length by using fact the digicam) promotes ease of storage for vacationing and traveling, the battery takes 2 hours to recharge, so in case you overlook to plug it in in the previous occurring an prolonged day of capturing you're vulnerable to leave out out on stuff. there is another element: A620 is slated to be discontinued (no remember if it quite is not already) while the hot sort lineup is provided in. wish this information enables you out some.

The SD800 has both image stabilization and a wide angle 28mm lens. Both things that the SD630 doesn't have, and both things are really terrific features.
So- I'd say the SD800 is the better camera. But- it costs more as well.
