I have Windows Ultimate Edition 64bit installed and it sure is a great OS experience!!! Using media, pictures, typing and creating documents, networking, and internet use is pure bliss. But you got to have a well suited computer unit that has mid-range specs to be able to fully exploit and use the many features that Vista has to offer like the Aero engine experience. Visit the windows website to see the list of minimun/recommended specs for windows vista or download the windows vista update advisor to have your cpu unit diagnosed automatically to see if your unit is Vista ready or not. Playing music, surfing the net, burning dvd's, sorting out files, or just plainly browsing through your computer is a delight. But when you're a gamer... the problem with Vista is quite daunting. The games I played in Vista compared to my previous OS (which is windows XP Professional sp2) are a bit slower in performance. Obvious lags occur and gameplay becomes a tad rough. The Sims 2 worked pretty well, for your information, and so did a lot of games. Some of my programs, software, and games though didn't work with Vista. To see a list of softwares (From antivirus programs to video applications) go to this site: http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List
Or go to gamespot.com for their Vista review.
All in all Vista isn't just an eyecandy. Though It's not solid for third party softwares, it's a great OS that packs many cool features, great security, friendly built in applications, and did I mention awesome media center experience?!!!

With the Aero feature enabled your gaming performance will be 15% slower than on XP.
Much more of your RAM will also be used by Vista than on XP.
According to the link below the games will, however, work on Vista.
I also had Vista & trashed it ... XP MCE is much better. Vista is just eye candy with lots of bells & whistles & some new features that no one needs or asked for.

the appropriate ingredient to do is to examine for utility you're requiring; eastern utility would be often what i'm relating with this. laptop publishing isnt going to be stressful to locate, there are various courses out for the two domicile windows and OSX. i for my section build my computers and at present run domicile windows XP regardless of the undeniable fact that i became into given a Macbook for Christmas and truthfully like it over my nicely-known computing device. The Mac is incredibly uncomplicated to apply, looks swifter and is greater safeguard. you only could do somewhat study to work out which you will earnings from greater, yet i'd advise the iMac in case you will come across the utility you require.
