You dont need to convert it to mpeg!
I've been burning movies for a while now, burn them in nero 7!! Select "make your own dvd video" in nero 7, it converts everything to vob format, which any dvd player plays! You can drag mpeg, avi's and if there bin files, download iso buster to get the dat file!! If you don't have nero 7, download the demo, then get the serial off the net!!
hope i've helped!!

The EASIEST way to watch Divx, xvid, etc on your DVD player is to get a new DVD player. There are plently around that will do this for about $70US. A great one is the Phillips DVP5960 available in the US, Europe, and Asia.
Trust me on this, I have been doing this for YEARS and the time it takes to convert divx to mpeg is not really worth it. You are talking 2 or more hours for each file at least.
However, if you insist on doin this, then read more and get conversion guide at http://www.videohelp.com

2 ways to do this!
1) if you've got nero, select create a new dvd-r then when you add the file export it! it will save as a mpeg. (Or you could just create the dvd to play in any dvd player.
2) Open windows movie maker (it's free with xp) and save the file in the mpeg format!!! (You can also save it to psp, phone ect...
:)
