Good match sir! McCallum was known as "The Body Snatcher" for good reason as he was a great body puncher. He was also a very skilled boxer. Hearns had thunderous power and a great jab. The knock on him has always been regarding his stamina and ability to take a punch. This would have been no doubt a headline fight. I believe that Hearns is just too good a boxer and controls the fight with his jab and wobbles McCallum from time to time with hard punches. McCallum would get inside and inflict heavy damage to Hearns body which would keep it a close fight. In the end I see Hearns capturing a close decision. Good question!

At 154 McCallum could maybe last into the later rounds against Hearns, but Tommy's reach and power would eventually take over. At 147 it would end even earlier, with a Hearns KO victory. McCallum simply didn't have the guns to keep Hearns off him, and Tommy is arguably the hardest punching welterweight of all time. Eventually that big right hand would land.

Hearns primed in the welterweight division, whereas Mike McCallum primed in super middleweight. Mike is used to shedding about 15-20 pounds for his fights. In this fight, he will need to shed at least 40 pounds. That will diminish his power and stamina. Hearns will only move up in weight and lose some speed. The disadvantage is with Mike. That's too much weight to lose.
Even if McCallum makes a fight out of it, Hearns will eventually catch him. Mike's bodyshots wouldn't be as effective as well. Hearns is an aggressive bodypuncher, too. If Tommy stays with Mike's body, Mike's stamina would diminish even faster. I see Hearns closing the show inside ten rounds. Either that, or Mike will quit on his stool. I don't think this would reach the scorecards because Mike will be looking for the knockout as well, only Tommy will make him pay for it big time.

Hearns hands down...He has the height and the right hand, if landed, will stop McCallum in his tracks. Hearns nearly took Sugar Ray in the first 5 rounds. Hearns is just a quick lanky hammer.

i'd could lean in direction of Mike "The physique Snatcher". He possessed super ability on the side of a super chin. He fought a guy who had a punch equivalent to The Hit guy's, Julian "The Hawk" Jackson and won. The Jackson/McCallum combat would be a preview of what the Hearns/McCallum combat would look as though.
