Or you can install PDFCreator http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/

To convert the word document do this:
- Open the word document
- Press print and select PDFCreator as the printer
- Specify where to save the pdf file

Without a full version of Adobe Acrobat of Adobe Flash Papaer, you will need a free PDF creator.

Try one of these:
http://www.google.com/search?source=ig&hl=en&q=pdf+creator

BTW - Word files are Microsoft files. PDF files are not Adobe files - they are free for anyone to make. It's just that Adobe has the most common reader out there, so we all think of PDF's as being special to Adobe.

If you have Adobe Acrtobat installed (not just the Reader) then you have a button in the Word toolbar that will convert for you. Chances are you do not have the full version of Adobe Acrobat, so you need another program. We use PDFCreator at woork (see link below). It is free, quick, fast, and has many security features. ************* If you use PDFCreator, I recommend that you UNCHECK the option to open the document after you create it. Somethimes this cuases an error. Just create it, then click on it to open after.

You need a PDF Converter. Another user here suggested the following:

Free PDF Converter – Online – may not be available forever – today is 2/20/07

http://media-convert.com/convert/index.php?pg=doc&sid=bx0driteh0n6mn9mykk4ghpuwo

I tried it and it worked quickly, easily, and was great, however, I’m wondering if I’m not opening myself up to a lot of ads.

Once you have one of those PFD Document Writer programs installed, the tricky bit is how to save it as a PDF.

You actually need to click on Print and then select the writer program as the printer.

I initially looked for a way to save it as a PDF or export and this is incorrect, so remember to click on Print in MS Word.

you need a pdf printer driver, there are some free pdf printers just search for "free pdf printer" then when you print your word document you will need to choose the pdf printer instead of sending it to your printer device. the document will then open as a pdf you can either use the "save as" if you are planning to use it as an attachment or print it off as a hard copy
