Consider a damaged artery. ( eg: femoral artery) What are the factors that determine whether it will repair or whether it will regenerate?

hi....
only epithelium & liver cells REGENERATE....
no other tissue in humans regenerate...

all other tissues undergo some change before attaining function hence the process is called repair....
eg... nerves repair...but again depends on type & intensity of injury...

so an artery regenerating is out of the question....
chances of repair are high...
which could happen faster if aided with some kind of ligatures etc...

Regenerate (if at all). Eye tissue regenerates the quickest.

the size of injury and depth
platelets in blood and healthyness of tissue surrounding (take vitamin C)
