Good question sir! McCallum would have the edge in size and reach but that never seemed to bother Duran too much as he always found a way to win. Duran is very clever and if you made a mistake against him, he would make you pay! McCallum would attempt to box and use his reach advantage against the aggressive Duran but Duran would be able to counterpunch and land heavy right hands against him. This would be the difference in this fight in my opinion as Duran was a master at timing his punches at the precise moment as needed in a fight. I believe that Duran captures the decision in a good fight.

Brent ~
In my opinion, this fight would very similar to when Duran fought against Barkley. The early rounds would definitely belong to "The Body Snatcher" but Duran would make the necessary adjustments and come out on top.

The thing a lot of people have to remember is, Duran was more than just an over aggressive mauler, he was quite the boxer too. A fighters career doesn't last as long as his did if he didn't know how to box.

McCallum would have the body attack going for him, Roberto didn't like to get hit to the body as he moved up in weight this was obvious when he fought a outgunned Davey Moore, every now and then Davey would go downstairs on Duran and Duran would come back with a furious attack whenever he did.

The ring could be the size of a phone-booth and these two wouldn't be more comfortable. Mike wouldn't waste any time going downstairs on Roberto and Mike would have much success in the early rounds, but come the 5th round Duran would make the right adjustments and use his straight punches to keep Mike off. Duran threw the much straighter punches than McCallum did, Mike had a tendancy to loop his right hand. James Toney gave Mike all he could handle twice only eeking out a draw in one of those matches and I see Duran beating Toney at any point in his career.

Mike would begin to wear down around the 12th and Duran would stop him late in the 13th, The Hard Luck Round.

Thanks for the question Brent.
