This would have been a very close fight sir! McCallum had the stronger punch of the two but Benitez is one of the most clever and most natural fighters that ever stepped in the ring. He weas also a great counterpuncher. McCallum would have been able to land some good punches aginst Benitez but would not be able to land many combinations against the clever Benitez who would counterpunch and frustrate him. Benitez always was under control during his fights and would have done just enough to win the decision in this fight. Great question sir!

This one's a tough call with two fighters who match up well. Benitez wouldn't run & box nearly as much a Ray Leonard, and wouldn't have the power to move a bigger McCallum. It would be a war, and if Benitez could last the full 15 he might edge Mike in a close one. The only problem is Benitez would be boxing for a decsion, and would take a lot of punishment. Latino fighters are sometime to macho for their own good, and this would be one of those times.

McCallum would wear Benitez down and score a late round KO.

Benitez would win by decision. Benitez fought on a level plain with Duran, Hearns, and Leonard but his name is forgotten compared to the others.
