Generally, to achieve a flatter stomach, you need to start with cardio exercise. So, the first goal is to loose fat, which should be done by burning calories and not gaining all of them back through bad eating habits.
At the same time, building a muscle mass everywhere (not just your stomach), will also help to increase your overall metabolism which will contribute to your lean mass. Only then, can you actually concentrate on a specific muscle group.
Now, all that being said, if done correctly, sit ups should be all that you need to tone your stomach. They should be done every 4-6 days, and not everyday like everyone says. You need to provide sufficient time for your muscles to recover. You also need to remember that a lot of other exercises incorporate stomach muscles as well - running, biking, jumping, stair climbing - in all of these stomach muscles are used in some level.
Try this, pick a staircase somewhere that consists at least of 12 steps. Jump 1 step at a time up the stairs. Do it 3 times. Next set, jump 2 steps at a a time, repeat times. Then, go for 3 steps at a time, do it 3 times. When coming down, after each set, jump down 1 step at a time. The next few days will show you how stomach muscles are used in jumping.
Good luck.

Sit-ups, crunches, or any other ab exercise will not flatten your stomach. If you have a little belly going, it's because htere is a layer of fat covering your abs, and a million crunches won't get rid of them. You have to lose overall body fat through healthy eating and exercise to flatten your stomach.

Sit ups will just build muscles behind the fat which can actually make the fat protrude more. You should be doing 20-30 minutes of cardio in conjunction with the sit ups if you actually want to flatten your tummy.

Crunches, try lifting your legs like you are in a chair. Then put your hands behind your head. Touch your elbows to your knees. You can really feel it in your stomach....

No. you may desire to alter your food plan and do extra cardio to flatten your "abdomen." via the way, this is not stated as "abdomen." this is stated as "abdominals" or "abs" you may desire to consume extra extra healthy ingredients and much less energy. No junk ingredients and soda. consume lots of culmination, vegetables, and drink lots of water. and you may desire to do lots of cardio (which includes working and bounce roping) to have a flat abs. sit down-united statesalone won't flatten it properly, was hoping I helped.
