There are billions of dollars spent on advertising for churches and catholic/christian based organizations all over the world. Atheists are a minority, however we are starting to reach out and get through to more and more people everyday. If we can stop just 1 person from being brainwashed (the same way you think of salvation) then we have accomplished something. Will this work through conversation? Who knows, but then again the question could easily be turned around. Why do religious people answer us? Do they think they will convince anyone? Thats the whole point of a discussion/debate.

What it comes down to is we are trying to promote free thought. A foreign concept to you I'm sure.
