For yuppies out there, Can you or should you put aside all emotional gunk if a friend, someone you are somewhat crazy about decides to put up a serious business partnership with you? He is currently single but claims to be in a relationship. Said he finds you as someone he can totally rely on. Recently (almost a month now) he would spend more hours with you(doing business and some great time) and one time he forgets that he is supposed to have a dinner date with the girl's parents but goes on spending more time talking with you... so, you think you'll eventually end up together successfully in love or in business or will it ever be possible to work both ways?

If the love is meant to be, i am sure with effort you both could work it out no matter how far and no matter how consuming your work is, if you put a little time for eachothe aside, i am sure it can work out. Please not that i said *with* effort, dont think it will be a breeze.

If you really want to make a mess of things you'll mix this business arrangement with your personal life.

Why would you be interested in someone that doesn't have the courtesy to call and cancel a dinner date?

There is no guarantee that relationship will lasts forever. Sounds to me that he's in love with you more than his other girlfriend. You need to be careful because you don't want to be labelled as the third party. Have a one-on-one chat with him and have him decide if he wants to take the relationship to the next level with you. Failing which you will need to exit gracefully.

That you are 'distracted' by his spending more time with you and flattered by his choices, you might be forgetting that it reflects his character...agreeing to previous answerers pointing out the down side of this (you being the thrid party or his attitude towards priority)

could it be that he is actually testing your response to this too...have you actually met the girl?

I personally wouldn't want to be with someone who treats a girlfriend the way he is treating her. Forgetting a date? Ouch. Nope, I wouldn't wonder if I could be with him...I'd thank God I'm not!

Most often, yes. It's a sort of conflict of interest usually. Too bad, but true.
